What are the main effects and causes of teenage pregnancy

Approximately 90% of girls aged 15 to 19 within early marriage where there is often an imbalance of power, no access to contraception and  pressure on girls to prove their fertility. Factors such as parental income, lack of school fees, communication, supervision, poverty, peer pressure, non-use of contraceptives, forced marriage, need for dowries and the extent of a girl's education also contribute. Teenage pregnancy mostly occur most often in marginalised and poorer communities. Again many girls face pressure to marry early and become mothers while they are still young. Therefore, it is advisable that girls must be able to make their own decisions about their bodies and future also have access to appropriate healthcare  services and education.
